George Herman Ruth, Jr. or better known as Babe Ruth, is believed to be the greatest baseball player of all time. In 1927, he was the first player to ever hit 60 home runs in one season. He has achieved an icon status in American culture.

Because of his being one of the greatest sports hero in American history, Babe Ruth rookie cards are one of the most sought after by hobbyists and collectors. Even reprints of original Babe Ruth baseball cards continue to fetch a decent amount of money.

Because of his popularity, there are more than 65 Babe Ruth cards released between 1914 and 1935. It is valued to be over $511,000. This Baltimore Sun rookie card released in 1994 features the then 19-year old Babe Ruth.
